Lauds & Laurels

The Lauds & Laurels Awards were created in 1971 by the UCI Alumni Association to recognize the achievements of students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members who have helped advance UCI’s goals and objectives. Initially the names of awardees were kept secret until the formal spring banquet was held; honorees are now announced before the ceremony. But in keeping with the tradition of discretion, nominees are selected by fellow members of the UCI community through confidential nominations, and awardees are then selected by committee.
