This book provides a history of UCI, from 1957-1993. It was written by UCI faculty member Samuel Clyde McCulloch and published in 1996. A physical copy of the book is available to read inside the Special Collections and Archives reading room.

Online Archive of UCI History [available from anywhere]

The Online Archive of UCI History is a digital archive created by the University of California, Irvine Libraries to preserve and make available for research core historical records of the university. Included are audio and video recordings, films, photographs and slides, and publications from 1959 forward. This digital archive was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of UC Irvine.

University Communications Photographs [collection guide available from anywhere]

The University Communications photographs were created by staff photographers employed by the UC Irvine, University Communications. With over 273,000 images, the photographs visually document the history of the UC Irvine campus. Selected images have been digitized and are available on the Online Archive of UCI History, but most images await in the digitization queue.

This finding aid provides collection descriptions as well as an inventory of physical photographic prints, slides, and negatives. To search the full inventory of photos, visit the University Communications Photographs collection guide, and select "Additional Collection Guides" to access the "University Communications, All Series Inventory."
