Using Our Collections

Reference Appointments

We began accepting video reference appointments with subject specialists via our Contact Us page in early August 2020. These appointments are for providing reference consultations only. You will not be able to view material on-site during this appointment. We can provide you with subject area expertise, help you identify relevant materials, and provide assistance for using our Special Collections Request System, Aeon to submit requests for digitization and for a public services staff member to review material on your behalf.

Reference appointments are not necessary to request digital copies of material nor to request staff to review material on your behalf. You can use Library Search and the OAC to select the material you’d like staff to review and or/digitize via the request special collections material link. This will take you to Aeon where you will be asked to register (if you haven’t already) and can complete your request. We will contact you directly if we have any questions.

For more information, please visit the Find and Request Collections and Request Duplication pages or write to us directly at

On-site Research Appointments

We are not able to accommodate in-person visits to Special Collections & Archives at this time.

Because we do not know the date of reopening, please contact us before making any travel arrangements.

In order to make an appointment, identify and select your materials in order of importance via Library Search and/or the OAC and log in to your Aeon Special Collections Request System account to request an appointment time. We will work to support your research needs, however we will be unable to accommodate all research appointments and requests due to limited staff availability.
