We are always interested in hearing from faculty who may wish to donate materials, particularly those whose careers have been exceptionally distinguished, as recognized by major awards and honors; whose contributions to teaching curricula or methodology have been influential; and/or who have made notable service contributions to the campus, University, scholarly community, or society at large. Materials in any format that document the individual’s notable research, teaching, University and public service, and personal biography are all of potential interest.
We are currently collecting papers from faculty members who 1) have achieved international recognition in their field (e.g., Nobel Prize winners), 2) whose papers contain significant original research and are of demonstrated interest to scholars, or 3) whose research or contributions focuses on Orange County, Critical Theory, Southeast Asian American Studies, dance or performing arts, or UCI history.
The UC Archivists Council (UCAC) has also developed a policy on faculty papers here: http://libraries.universityofcalifornia.edu/content/uc-faculty-papers-identification-and-appraisal
We do not collect the published works of UCI faculty. The Libraries encourages UCI authors to contribute their scholarly output to UC digital repositories (e.g., eScholarship) via Digital Scholarship Services.
