Scheduling Note for Summer 2025
We are anticipating a large-scale collections move later this summer that will limit our public services in the reading room. Please submit your research requests as far out as possible, and we will do our best to reserve materials before they are in transit. Thank you in for your understanding.
Welcome
UC Irvine Libraries Special Collections and Archives (SCA) acquires, preserves, and makes accessible collections of archives, rare books, manuscripts, photographs, ephemera, born-digital files (originally created in digital form), and other rare and unique materials. Our holdings include the Orange County Regional History Center, the Southeast Asian Archive, University Archives, tens of thousands of rare books including a First Folio of Shakespeare, and strong collections in the areas of artists' books, critical theory, performing arts, and political literature.
SCA provides instructional programs for UC Irvine undergraduates and graduate classes and the community in a range of disciplines and subjects. We also provide research assistance, digitization and duplication services, and consultations on oral history and archival best practices.
We welcome students, staff, faculty, independent researchers, and community members to visit us on the fifth floor of Langson Library or in the OC&SEAA Center.
